2023: Beyond Borders

In 2023, Warwick Congress witnesses the annual conference through an international lens. Inviting international speakers from across the globe and hosting panel discussions, Warwick Congress aims to diversify and represent the unrepresented. Inspiring the next generation of innovators among us, we seek to spark intrigue and conversation. This year, we are Bridging Borders.

2022: The Roaring 20s

In 2022, Warwick Congress introduced the 'Roaring 20s'. The American epithet for the 1920s, it refers to a decade of prosperity, innovation, and cultural dynamism, defined by flourishing demand and rapid industrial growth.

Notable speakers: Nitin Sharma, Dana Denis-Smith, Mike Bagguley and firm representatives from Clifford Chance.

2021: In Preparation

In 2021, Warwick Congress continued 2020's mission of encouraging varied and diverse academic discussion. We remotely delivered training sessions and personalised CV workshops to make careers in Law, Finance, Economics and Politics more accessible.

2020: Adaptation

Amidst a pandemic, Warwick Congress adapted and overcame challenges and expected the unexpected. The in-person conference screamed variety, including professional footballers, authors and YouTubers with a unique humanitarian edge.

Notable speakers: David Buttle, Andy Silvester, Adebayo Akinfenwa, Nitin Sharma and Pinsent Masons' representatives.

2019: The Fourth Industrial Revolution

In 2019, Warwick Congress took on the growing and rapidly evolving Fourth Industrial Revolution, leading with the question: 'where is humanity headed?' The conference focused on the consequences of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on businesses, governments and society as a whole.

Notable speakers: Abhijit Akerkar, Marina Theodosiou, Brigette Hyacinth and Ian West.

2018: Free Trade and Globalisation

In 2018, Warwick Congress explored the topic of Global Trade vs Embargoes, addressing an era where goods and services are delivered to doorsteps daily, the populist movements of recent years and globalisation. With protectionist policy promised by the US and Brexit's uncertainty, we asked: 'what is the fate of global free trade?'

Notable speakers: Maria Carvalho, Michael Lewis, Dr. Katrin Tinn, Dr. Clair Gammage and Professor Gabriel Felbermayr.

2017: Our Beginnings

2017 marked the first annual conference of Warwick Congress, welcoming 500 delegates and 12 speakers to address 3 topics through different perspectives. Warwick Congress aimed to explore issues in finance, law, politics and economics, to build an awareness of how these disciplines shape discourse. The categories of discussion were the environment, technology and Europe.

Notable speakers: Abhinay Muthoo, Diana Wallis, Tony Cocker and Miriam Maes.
